Project Highlights
-
Sunrise helped the Town of Payson develop a 4.5 MGD surface water treatment plant to treat water from the C.C. Cragin surface water source to drinking water standards.
-
Supported site selection, membrane equipment selection, pilot testing, and preliminary design, including site planning, hydraulic profiles, process diagrams, facility layouts, and preliminary design documentation.
-
Designed a treatment train incorporating pretreatment, membrane filtration, granular activated carbon (GAC) polishing, water storage, backwash handling, and sludge handling facilities.
-
Addressed the potential formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs) through pilot testing that incorporated PACl pretreatment and GAC post-treatment, reducing DBP formation to levels below applicable maximum contaminant levels.
-
Sunrise later designed improvements to add two 1,000-gpm GAC vessels as a polishing step to remove total organic carbon and further reduce the potential for DBP formation.
-
GAC improvements included equipment selection, mechanical piping design, design calculations, construction documents, permitting support, construction administration, and inspection.
